Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. recognizes alcohol and drug
dependency as an illness and a major health problem. The Company also
recognizes alcohol and drug abuse as a potential health, safety,
performance, and security problem. Employees needing help in dealing
with such problems are encouraged to use our Employee Assistance
Program and health insurance plans, as appropriate. Conscientious
efforts to seek and use such resources will not jeopardize an
employee's job and will remain confidential.
Employees are expected and required to report to work on time and in
appropriate mental and physical condition for work. It is the intent
of Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. to provide a drug-free
healthful, safe and secure work environment.
The unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensation, possession,
or use of a controlled substance or alcohol on company premises or
while conducting Company business is absolutely prohibited.
Violations of this policy will result in disciplinary action, up to and
including termination, as well as possible criminal consequences.
Cracker Barrel Old County Store, Inc. reserves the right to subject
all Management Trainees to mandatory Drug Testing. Hourly and
management employees may be required to submit to a Drug Test
whenever reasonable suspicion of illegal drug use or alcohol abuse
occurs, unless prohibited by law. The Company also reserves
the right to subject employees to DrugTesting after the occurrence of
an on-the-job accident. The Company further reserves the right to
subject employees who operate aircraft, forklifts, motor vehicles, or
other potentially dangerous equipment to random Drug Testing. Drug
Testing may include testing for alcohol. A Cracker Barrel employee who
tests positive is subject to disciplinary action up to and including
termination.
Nothing in this policy is construed as altering the employment-at-will
relationship between Cracker Barrel and its employees.
